\"\"For the last few years, this country has been divided into two warring factions on seemingly every topic under the sun, further impeding our progress for the future. It appears that whatever the subject is, we Americans can devoutly argue the merits of one side versus the other. Sure, politics and religion have always been the most popular topics to fume about with staunch convictions of knowing the truth and what will be best for all concerned. But now there are other equally demanding subjects to address, such as climate change, sexual abuse and the \u201cMe, Too\u201d movement.<\/p>\n

Then there\u2019s immigration, a border wall, family separations, Black Lives Matter, wolves, ecology, forest fires, floods, earthquakes, tsunamis, locusts, education, health insurance, taxes, driving skills that evoke road rage, banks\u2026 did I mention wolves? And, money, money and more money problems!<\/span><\/p>\n

The list goes on and on. I don\u2019t venture out much anymore because it seems one will get involved with a combative citizen with a different point of view, which will anger you to the very core of your being.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thus, I\u2019ve adopted a formula in which to engage these varied forays into heated debate with my fellow man. To every stated belief I simply reply: (\u201coh\u201d). You\u2019re not going to change anyone\u2019s mind in the brief time lapse you spend entering into a discussion with another at Atkinsons\u2019, buying Temptations for your beloved feline. Better to say (\u201coh\u201d) and move on down the aisle.<\/span><\/p>\n

This works marvelously for such statements as: \u201cRepublican conservatives suck!\u201d My retort? (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cBleeding heart liberals suck!\u201d Once again, (\u201coh\u201d) will handle it. \u201cHey, Mike Pence has been named to address the coronavirus pandemic in America\u201d (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cAdam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi ought to be shot! (\u201coh\u201d).<\/span><\/p>\n

You can\u2019t stand it\u2014your President of the United States of America is Donald J. Trump! (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cWell, I hate wolves!\u201d (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cThe BLM is corrupt!\u201d (\u201coh\u201d).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThese forest fires are out of hand!\u201d (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cI\u2019m so glad the snowfall this year has been minimal! (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cBut then, what about the water in the reservoir in the spring? (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cAt least there won\u2019t be flooding in Hailey\u2019s China Gardens!\u201d (\u201coh\u201d). But we might run out of water! (\u201coh\u201d).<\/span><\/p>\n

Are you telling me I have to shave my beard because the coronavirus will attack it? (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cWe\u2019ve got too many foreigners in this country. Thank God for The Wall!\u201d (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cCox Communications is a ripoff!\u201d (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cI wouldn\u2019t have a \u2018Dish\u2019 if you paid me!\u201d (\u201coh\u201d).<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019ll shoot any wild animal in my yard! (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cDid you see that pickup cut me off this morning?\u201d (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cAll senior citizens should be rounded up and have their driver\u2019s licenses taken away! (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cTeenagers are losers!\u201d (\u201coh\u201d). \u201cVote (\u201coh\u201d) on Proposition 21!\u201d \u201cJust say (\u201coh\u201d) to drugs!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
