Just before he awoke, he arrived at a riverbank in Minnesota and saw 38 of his Dakota ancestors hanged. At the time, Jim knew nothing of the largest mass execution in U.S. history, ordered by Abraham Lincoln on Dec. 26, 1862. What does this linear history omit? What are the possibilities for reimagining or reinterpreting colonial history from the indigenous point of view? Andrus, will present a talk\u2014How Bipartisanship Saved the Supreme Court\u2014on the role Senators Burton Wheeler and William Borah played in what one historian has called the greatest constitutional crisis since the Civil War. Johnson will relate the story of how bipartisanship saved the Supreme Court in his new book, \u201cPolitical Hell-Raiser: The Life and Times of Senator Burton K.
